Engrossing... frightening... constantly amusing, owing to Bogosian's rapid-fire script, full of all the quirky humor and undisguised cutting satire that has infused his other work, from Talk Radio and subUrbia to his frenetic solo shows.
The writing is addictive and the action moves swiftly ahead under the brisk, effective direction Artistic Director Scott Behrend.
LaChuisa is a joy to watch.
Phil Knoerzer is wonderfully affable, with perfect comic timing.Lisa Vitrano gives a worthy performance as the alternately annoying and freaked-out Nicole, as do Klein as Max and Bonnie Jean Taylor in the quirky role of Spoon. Three Star Review - Colin Dabkowski - The Buffalo News
Humpty Dumpty is the story of a group of yuppies on holiday who get a front row seat to the end of civilization in this savage comedy/thriller from renowned playwright/actor Eric Bogosian.
Humpty Dumpty was first performed at McCarter Theatre Center, Princeton, NJ in 2002. It went on to San Jose Repertory Theatre, San Jose, CA in 2003. This is its WNY premiere.
Humpty Dumpty also marks the first in RLTP's American Theater Masters Series. Artistic Director Scott Behrend has created the Series to help support and educate our local theater professionals by connecting them with theater artists who have made a significant contribution to the American theatre.
This year Eric Bogosian is our theater master and will be coming to Buffalo to speak to RLTP's playwrights and host RLTP's 2008 Spring Gala fon Wednesday, April 23.
Eric Bogosian is best known for writing and starring in the play and the film adaptation of that play, "Talk Radio" (NYSF - 1987). For this work he was a Pulitzer Prize finalist and received the Berlin Film Festival "Silver Bear Award." Talk Radio is currently playing on Broadway, marking Bogosian's Broadway debut. It was nominated in 2007 for Best Actor, Liev Schreiber, and Best Revival of a Play.
